The trip started and ended in puring rain. Fortunately the hire car had some incredibly fast wiper action and I was able to make the road out for most of the journey :S At one point, given the early start and concentration required just to see the end of the bonnet, I begun to feel so tired that I pulled over into a service station, locked the car and had an hour's sleep. A stop for breakfast and then a long haul to get to the destination and give myself enough time to make good inroads on the project.
I tried to check-in at the hotel early but they wouldn't allow it so I made my way to the Hall and started working on the plan that would see me finish by Wednesday and head home to see her.
The call to head North again had been unexpected. Before she had left I had agreed to meet on the Wednesday evening after she returned and there was no way on earth that I was going to miss it. So I worked until late and made a big dent in the tasks I needed to complete.
