Homeward Bound

Everything went smoothly this morning and there were even reports that the motorway may be opened later on.

I left at about 1pm in the end, having to go back via the hotel to check-out as I wasn't sure if I was going to end up having to stay another night or not. I had a call from Chief which was good, I needed to catch up with him and he always makes me laugh. It was a nice way to start my return journey.

The drive itself was quite smooth. The motorway was still closed near Yorkshire but a diversion around the closed junctions was almost as quick as if it had been opened anyway. I made it home in very good time and quickly got ready before heading out to see how brown she had got.

We spent ages catching up again and I listened intently to the stories of her holiday. She showed me the photos she had taken and all of the places that she used to call home. It's a place that I would love to see before it gets too commercialised, whilst it still looks something like her hometown.
